A hackathon is an event where teams work together to solve a problem and build a creative solution in a limited time. At HackBiz, you will respond to a real-world challenge, develop your idea with AI, present it through a website and pitch it to judges. It is not about 'hacking' in the security sense.

No! HackBiz is designed for beginners with no coding experience. We will provide workshops at the event and there will be coaches available during the day to guide you.

Your team will receive a real-world problem and explore both the people it affects and the business needs involved. You will use AI to develop a solution, build a website, create graphics and other supporting visuals, then pitch your case to the judges. Workshops and coaches will help you throughout the day.

Teams can have 2-4 members. Participants should create their own teams and apply as a team. Only one application per team is required.

HackBiz is completely free to attend! Registration, swag, and all workshops are included at no cost.

Bring your laptop, charger, any other devices you'll need, notebooks and lots of creativity! There will be food, snacks, and drinks available for purchase throughout the event. Please also bring a photo ID (HKID, student ID etc.) for registration.

HackBiz is open to students aged 12-16 currently studying in Hong Kong. Both local and international school students are welcome, and coding experience is not required.

Your team will build a website that explains and demonstrates your solution to the real-world problem announced on the day. You can use graphics, diagrams, mock-ups and other visuals to make your business case clear and persuasive.

Yes! We'll have experienced coaches from the tech and education industry available throughout the event to help with technical questions, project advice, and general guidance.

Lunch is not provided by the event. There are canteens, snack shops and restaurants on campus.

Projects are judged on creative problem-solving, understanding of the real-world and business needs, effective use of AI, the clarity and design of the website and supporting visuals, and the strength of the final pitch. Specific judging criteria will be shared before the event.
